innovation(s)
We are interested here in both our capacity to innovate and the various emerging innovations that will likely contribute to change the world.
1. the phenomenon "innovation"
Innovation seems to have become the watchword of the last 15 years. Yet we too often speak of it in general terms; we sometimes confuse invention and innovation; and we may even suggest that innovation can be learned ...
The act of inventing, however, will not suffice by itself. It is the surrounding context that creates innovation and allows consumers or users to accept novelty. From business angels to spin-offs, from methods of engineering to the role of trust, from precursors to marketing, there is a whole universe hidden behind the concept of innovation.
But the real question for the futurist is "how to use innovation to move in the desired direction to achieve the chosen goal?" In a time of transition, innovation is crucial if we are to move forward from the old world to the next. New responses must be found: which ones, why and how do we implement them?
2. innovations
What are the areas where innovation is more necessary than ever? In what way, should we think about innovation to encourage new ways to examine and carry out the most cutting-edge invention?

economy, businesses
The creation and the driving of change within a business are always related to strategic foresight. But there is a new need to address in today's enterprise: caring for the transformations underway that are the result of the phenomenon of global transition. This is the role that, from now on, will be dedicated to managerial foresight.
Beyond the corporate enterprise, the economy in effect is transforming through various means, including business models, new types of innovation, sustainable development, and the generation of value add (i.e. wikinomics). Many innovations are at the heart of these changes.

transportation
Today the issue of transportation probably calls out most for new solutions. These solutions must address not only the issue of energy, but also pollution, congestion (traffic and parking) and urban sprawl.

sustainable development
The concept of sustainable development is subject to the same difficulties as that of innovation: a lot of generalization and confusion with little action.
The innovations proposed by proGective systematically take into account the three components of sustainable development (society, environment, economy) within the goal of furthering long-term growth.
