GOUX-BAUDIMENT Fabienne, Tomorrow will die
Human beings’ resilience to extinction is much greater than is usually imagined. Almost no single event, with the exception a sudden explosion of the planet, seems able to drive the species to extinction. However a chain of events, such as those created by climate change or the intertwined threads of current trends, amplified by some failure of human beings to cope with reality (inefficiency, apathy, underestimation, politics, etc.) could threaten our survival. This paper aims to provide a set of such multiple events, interconnected or independent, developing over a rather short period of time, 150 years. This may appear an unrealistic period to lead to a plausible extinction, yet this was the condition required to create a situation that is as realistic as possible, based on current facts and extrapolations. Plus or minus 50 years in the timeline makes no difference to the coherence of this development. It was decided to develop this scenario with the help of no new element, no radical rupture, nothing that would be unknown today, at least in theory. Thus, this future is a plausible one. Whether it is an about-to-happen future or not is left to the reader's judgement. Whether human beings will react this way if it happens simply depends on how we embrace our own responsibility in the matter.
PERSEIL Sonny, Prostitution
Discreetly closing ones eyes so that they cease to exist will not suffice. On the contrary, it is necessary to open them wide to see this reality lucidly: prostitution is not only the oldest profession in the world; it also constitutes a pressure valve in a world where power, sex and violence could become otherwise more explosive. The reopening of brothels under medical, judicial and fiscal control is a public duty. A demand of morality and ethics… FGB
